Travel Photography: Faces of 2013

A fisherman going home after a long day on the lake, Inle, Myamnar
These portraits are of just a few of the people I have been lucky enough and photograph on my travels throughout 2013. Once again it has been a fantastic year for ticking destinations off my (ever increasing) list, and I’m proud to share these images with you. I remember each face, each meeting and taking each shot, and I believe these memories are just as important as the photos you see here.

Even more shooting in 2014

As ever the start of the year is an exciting time for a fresh outlook and new opportunities. With 2013 not long gone, we are again open for business for all types for photography – Commercial projects, Corporate Imagery and of course much more Travel Photography – alongside my own personal photography projects and new ideas.

Can’t wait for an exciting 2014!

Photography is an exciting passion, career and lifestyle and i’m very lucky to be able to shoot everyday and sustain all three. Here’s to much more in 2014

The Tour of Britain comes through Ashtead

It’s not every day you get a national sporting event happening in your own High Street, so today we ventured out to join the crowds in cheering the cyclists along on the latest stage of the Tour Of Britain Cycle Race 2013.

Of course I grabbed my cameras and had a quick play as they came and were escorted through the village by the Race Control waving the red and white chequered flag and leading the bikes through Ashtead.

The village is ready and waiting..

Not long now…. a slight buzz of excitement goes around

Here they come!!

Can you spot anyone?

There they go…..

..and they’re gone

Wonder who will get to Guildford first?

Interior and Lifestyle Photography

These are a few samples of the latest Commercial Photography undertaken for the Mercure, Novotel and Ibis chains of hotels for Accor hotels.

Using natural lighting as well as location lights from Elinchrom to achieve a ‘sun kissed’ look and feel to the shots. It was great working with a client who allowed my creative freedom to experiment and work with the models.

Download Rock Festival 2013

Download Fest crowds
Crowds enjoying the rock in the sun at Donington Park

This years Download Festival boasted a number of big rock acts which brought in the fans – Slip Knot, Alice in Chains, Motorhead and Iron Maiden to name just a few. With the acts stating to play around 11am there was lots of stages and bands to choose from and rock out all day long.
Lemmy’s still got what it takes!

Motorhead played a balzin set with loads of classic tunes that got the crowd screaming..nice to see them still playing hard.

Saturday night headline act was the almighty Iron Maiden..opening their set with a flypast of a classic Spitfire over the estimated 90,000 fans before launching into a selection of songs off their many albums opening with”Moonchild”.

Bruce screams from the podium

Other acts included Blitz Kidz, Coal chamber, Hellyeah, Rival Sons and many more bands got the crowds rocking all weekend.
Another brilliant festival and now waiting for 2014 – good to know there is still a strong rock machine out there in todays world. With new strong act coming through and the old rockers still playing the future for rock looks good.
Blitz Kids are first on to blow the cobwebs away on Sunday morning

Rival Sons played a smooth set and brought a slower pace to the day

Sun, beers, fans and lots of loud rock – great weekend.
Brutality Will Prevail held nothing back in their great show.

Head shots, branding and corporate identity

This week I worked on a number of photo shoots, and here are a few shots from these commissions.

I was commissioned by QualitySolicitors to go into one of their branches and photograph their staff for online profile photos, as well as new branding and signage at the offices.

I was also asked to produce a set of publicity and marketing photographs of the new CEO at Astrum Education in London
These would be used for online profiles, press releases and company reports, as well as his own personal and professional Social Media profiles. My brief was to capture him in various office type environments and situations and provide a variety of photographs to be used by Astrum Education.
